Hi, I’m Kate!
I’m a professional photographer based on the Mornington Peninsula, not too far outside of Melbourne, Australia. I work locally, but also have projects that take me to the other side of Port Phillip Bay, and beyond. I work across editorial, commercial, fine art, and commissioned photography projects. I have been featured in well known Australian magazines such as Home Beautiful, Adore, House & Garden, Grand Designs and was the winner of The Australian Academy of Design Photography Prize.
So where did my photographic journey begin?
After studying Marketing & Advertising straight out of High School, I soon realised that as much as I love Business, I was spending far too much time on the creative elements in every opportunity I had. After finishing the course, I put my backpack on and headed out to see the world, where it became very obvious where I should be focusing my attention. This trip in 2009, truly opened my eyes. I would call it the beginning of the journey back to myself (and my art). Upon returning home, I applied to study at the Australian Academy of Design - a bachelor of Design Arts (Photography & Filmmaking) and I never looked back.
Sharing my work with the world brings me so much joy. Whether it’s my distinct way of seeing the Landscape, or it’s bringing a creative vision of a small business to life, everything I do is full of passion and attention to detail.
